Mr. Abbasi is an international research, monitoring and evaluation specialist. He is founder and Executive Director of IMPACT Consulting www.impact.org.pk which provides services for socio-economic survey research, policy analysis, evaluation studies, impact assessments, and market intelligence. The organisation also has a communication development arm through which it serves clients with excellent quality social media management services and content development.
Mr. Abbasi has been working with the development sector since 1998. He has worked with many national and international development players which includes different UN organisations, CSOs and international development consulting firms. He has undertaken research and conducted evaluation studies of programmes and projects on primary healthcare, WASH, emergency aid, disaster management, trade and industrial capacities, rule of law, social protection (cash for work), federalism, gender and empowerment, post-conflcit reconstruction, and corporate agriculture. In addition, he regularly contributes opinion articles (OpEd) on issues of social and economic development in leading newspapers of Pakistan.
Having been awarded prestigious British Chevening Scholarship for the year 2007-08, Mr. Abbasi holds M.Sc. in ‘International Development: Industry, Trade and Development’ from the University of Manchester, UK. He aims at internationally contributing excellent quality managerial, research, evaluation, and advisory services for programmes and projects in the development sector.
Additionally, Mr. Abbasi has interest in playing tennis, reading literature and contributes in different forms of prose and poetry. Currently, he is working on translation of award-winning literary works which are in the process of publishing.
